We are the product of a historical process that shaped our relationships as a discriminated and segregated ethnic group. Not totally looking past the pathologies of being in a physical and psychological ghetto of Euro-Caucasian attitudes, we created amongst ourselves a social ethos that included greater empathy and broader compassion for marginal behaviors', since we intuitively understood the root system of those behaviors origins.
